no.33 130602 Thank you for providing team members for Mexico

Bright Sunlight
The deadline to apply for summer short term mission trip to Mexico was due last Sunday. However, only about half the people we need applied for the trip, so the deadline was extended to today. After the service, I talked to my pastor who will be leading the team and he told me a bad news. He said that there could be a possibility of the trip to Mexico being cancelled this summer because of the lack of participation. When I heard this, I got pretty sad and I was feeling worse for the people in Mexico who are waiting for us.

I was talking to a couple of my friends on the way to the parking lot after church. At first I thought it's my fault that there aren't enough volunteers for Mexico. It's a really stupid reason, but two months ago I wanted to do 'something nice' such as feeding the poor (what I did yesterday), too many people signed up so I couldn't join. That was my first time ever wanting to help the homeless people, and I didn't even get a chance to serve. It was a little bit discouraging, but I decided to signed up for yesterday's opportunity and this time I got in. So I thought, perhaps the same rule applied to the mission trip to Mexico. So until the end of lunch time, I thought Mexico was not happening.

We have a softball league at church that just begun today. On the field, I was sharing the bad news with friends. Then I found out that there are two more people who are joining us! I was happy to hear this great news and thought of God as the provider for everything. It helped me realize once again, that there is always a way for His will to be done. I'm thankful that God provided the rest of the team members for Mexico mission trip for the summer. I'm thankful that we no longer have to worry that the trip might be cancelled. As we have about two months left until we take off, I want to prepare myself with prayer and keep up with my daily devotions so that I can put on the full armor of God.

"Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms"
Ephesians 6:11-12
