no.34 130603 Thank you for my future husband

Sean Ro (from JinuSean) in Toronto, June 1st, 2013
No, the guy in the picture is not my future husband. He is a Korean Christian celebrity.

Last Saturday, I went to Sean Ro's 'Talk concert' in Mississauga. Sean started off with Q&A which lasted for about an hour, where the audience asked whatever question they like - it could be anything from marriage, family, music, etc. Then, he had prepared a time of his testimony - how he began to help the neighbours by saving about $10 a day, and now he sponsors 804 children around the world, including Haiti, Philippines and North Korea. He had prepared a few videos from his wedding, and of his beautiful family. Sean concluded the event with his songs from 'JinuSean.' I've heard of a couple of JinuSean's most famous songs, but they were popular in the 90s.. and back then, I wasn't a fan of hip-hop. The setting (church) didn't suit the type of music either. I'm not sure if his songs were appropriate but I'm sure he talked to the church leaders in advance about this. Regardless, I think I would've had more fun if it was in a different setting - something more hip-hopish.

Anyways, the reason I went to this event early in the morning on a Saturday was because I wanted to hear Sean speak (obviously). Although I've seen him on youtube on various events, TV shows and documentaries, and I even follow him on Twitter and Instagram, I wanted to experience him in person. Of course I couldn't talk to him personally, but it was nice to see his happy smile and to make an eye contact with him. They are my role models - what I want for my future husband and myself when we're married.

Although I've heard of Sean from JinuSean when I was young, I only got to know Sean & Jung Hye Young as a Christian couple when I was in university. The couple was very well known in Korea as they are both celebrities (Sean being a hip-hop musician, and Jung Hye Young being an actress), and I found out about them and their website on a Korean website. Their website - more like a blog - was updated by Sean himself. He posted up pictures and stories about his wife and his family. Back then, he only had two children. Now, the number has doubled.

What captured my attention at first was how Sean treated his wife. Any girl who saw how Sean treats Jung Hye Young - she will want her husband to act the same way. Sean knows how to pleasantly surprise his wife. He loves to prepare something for his wife, and surprise her. Personally, I like to prepare something small or big (usually small) for people that I care about. I guess this could depend on one's expectation, but what I like to do is very simple. For instance, write a card with illustrations drawn by me and mail it to a friend as a surprise. To some people, this may not mean much, but I tend to appreciate small things (I also like big surprises too). I guess because I like to give to people, I also like receiving from them. Although it's something as simple as a card and a rose for the first anniversary present, if you see the thought that one put into preparing it, it would definitely make one happy. That's what Sean did for Jung Hye Young on their first anniversary. And on their second anniversary, he gave her two roses marking their second year. He also wrote in the card that the number of roses will increase one by one as the years they spend together grow one by one. What I thought was so sweet was that Sean keeps track of the days since him and his wife first met, and also since they got married. Isn't that romantic? Not just about what the things Sean physically gives to Jung Hye Young, I could really see how much he loves her. I'm sure you can see it too. Their love for one another is proven in their eyes.

The more I got to know about the couple, I realized that the love they share so great because it is based on God. God exists in the centre of their relationship, and also in their family. Sean loves God, as so does Jung Hye Young. They love God before each other. They place God as number one in their life. I am so certain that if this is true, your marriage won't fail. And because of this reason, I want to be like Sean & Jung Hye Young. I want my marriage and family to have a foundation in God. I want my future husband and I to be pleasing to God first.

I'm thankful my future husband. I might have already met him, or it's a total stranger that I've never met until God reveals him to me. One thing I know for sure is that he is there somewhere, also praying and preparing. Wherever you are, my future husband, I'm thinking about you and praying for you and for us! I pray that you're praying for me too. I pray that we will meet at God's perfect time and that we will both recognize each other! I pray that we would place God before each other, and love Him first before each other!
