no.127 130904 Thank you for making me smile

I think I was in grade 2? On a field trip. I'm the girl in the middle.
After my walk today, I felt like going on the swing for a bit. There were a couple of young boys playing and a little boy, who was playing with the sand. Whenever I go to that playground, it reminds me of Mexico. Before going to Mexico, I went to the playground at the end of my walk almost every day, to just relax and feel the breeze while swinging. There, I prayed, I wondered about Mexico, and I listened to "Vamos a Cantar" and sang along in preparation to lead worship.

While I was enjoying the breeze, the next song on my playlist totally captured my heart. It just went so well with everything that was about the moment. The song is called "Into the Memory" by Eddie Higgins. Watching the kids run around the playground while listening to this song, it threw me back to my childhood. After school, group of friends and I used to hang out by the playground in the neighbourhood. We didn't do much - probably just playing tag or run around like the kids I saw today. It was only a simple thing, but it was fun and we laughed out loud.

I can't go back to the past but I'm thankful that I have these warm memories I can cherish. I had fun on the swing today. For some reason, I was grumpy today. However, I saw myself smiling from ear to ear as I was walking home from the playground. I was surprised on how a small thing like this had changed the way I was feeling. And I thought, "You always know how to make me smile!" God really knows all about me. Thank You Lord!
