no.1 130501 Thank you for this blog

Thank you for this opportunity to start blogging about the things I'm thankful for. I wanted to keep a daily record of one thing I'm thankful for in my planner. That was one of my new year's resolutions which I haven't been keeping well (Can you believe it's already May?). I've decided to do this because, although I think about the things I am thankful for, I have a tendency to forget them if I don't write them down. As a matter of fact, I would often take things for granted, as if I deserve everything I have. The truth is, I don't deserve anything, and I don't own anything. All my possessions - my family and friends, my health, the food that I enjoy, the warm bed to sleep in, the clothes I wear, and everything else big and small - I only have them because they were provided by God (And He can take one or more away from me at any time He wants). However, these things I’ve listed above are just temporary, as I can’t take any of them with me when I leave my temporary home called Earth. Were these given to me because I'm good? No way! There are so many things I don't deserve yet God provides out of His love and grace - the greatest and the best gift being the eternal life, which is forever. So how can I not give thanks?

The name of my blog "Merci Toujours" as you probably know by now reflects the theme of the blog. I know that there are plenty of things that have been given to me, so it shouldn't be too hard to pick one thing a day. However, it will be a challenge for me to be consistent. Whether the entries are long or short, simple or deep, I hope to be consistent with my blog! On May 1st, 2014, after a year of blogging, I will have 365 reasons to give thanks! And the year after, I will have another 365 things, and by the end of the third year, I will have more than thousand things to be thankful for! Wouldn't that be amazing?

  1. I have a similar struggle. I tend to do well on not keeping the record of the wrong but fail to keep the record of the good.

Hope this blog becomes a tool of reminder for ya =]
