"But whose delight is in the law of the Lord
and who meditates on his law day and night,
that person is like a tree planted by streams of water,
which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither -
whatever they do prospers"

Psalm 1:2-3

As I have shared yesterday, I am following my church's Bible reading plan for the year 2015. So today's chapters came from Genesis 1-2, and Psalm 1. I want to share something from the book of Psalms as I had a moment of awakening.

I been having a difficult time reading the Bible lately. I haven't been really drawn to it, and definitely didn't "delight" in it. I had to force my self to get my devotion done… and it felt like a chore on my check-off list. It wasn't something I look forward to, rather, it's something that I'd push it off until the end of the day. So, when I read the verses from Psalm 1, it made me question myself. Do I delight in the law of the Lord? Do I meditate on his law day and night? If I haven't been doing a good job at it, how do I do it?

God spoke to me through these verses and I'm thankful to have been reminded of this and how God desires for me to delight in His word. At the end of the year, I want to look back and see that I have delighted in God's word and have meditated on it every day. I believe that the reading plan will help me achieve this goal. I
