no.156 131003 Thank you for Gaecheonjeol

Is it crazy that I'm googling "Christmas baking ideas" already? I mean, Thanksgiving didn't even happen yet and here I am already planning for Christmas?

Well, I was looking up some baking related stuff online and that kinda got me thinking about Christmas baking... and I got so excited about it! I'm planning to bake and feed my friends as usual. I still have lots of time left until Christmas, so let me focus on today. October 3rd is "Gae-cheon-jeol" in Korea. It marks the day when "Go-Jo-seon" meaning ancient Korea was founded by Dangun in the year 2333BC. Yeah.. Korea has a longggg history! Just like anyother creation myth, there's a myth associated with the birth of Korea. There was a bear who wanted to become a human, and she finally transformed into a woman after eating only garlic and mugwort in the cave without seeing the sunlight for 100 days. Her name was "Ungnyeo" and she was married to the son of the "Lord of heaven" named "Hwanung" and later gave birth to a son named "Dangun."
