no.4 130504 Thank you for new relationships

I like meeting new people. However, the older I get, I find it harder to meet people who 'click' and to develop a good, lasting relationship. Recently, I got a chance to meet some new people through an event. We could've easily moved on with our lives and not see each other again and be ephemeral friends, or just keep the relationship at the level where you 'know someone, but don't know him/her well' and just be 'friends' on Facebook, who are categorized as 'acquaintances'. Thankfully, we all took an initiative to really get to know each other. How do you do this? I can't think of anything better than a quality time. That's probably the only way to really get to know someone. You meet them face to face, listen to them, watch their body language, see their facial expression, etc. And of course, everyone has a different background, and story to tell. I especially enjoy listening to stories that challenge me.

I am thankful for each and every relationship in my life, but today, I want to pay a special attention to the new relationships of this year. Whether it's people that I met from church, volunteer work, networking or through a friend, I am grateful for all the relationships so far. I hope to keep growing in a relationship with everyone that I met, and look forward to new relationships that have yet to come this year.
